Dear diary…
I considered April as the worst month in my life. Not any more. April 2012 was legen…wait for it…daaary.

Google was the only one who tried April fool prank on me this time. The days followed was one of the best days in my life.I got three job offers from campus. (HCL as a project Management Trainee, E&Y as an Associate consultant and Qburst as Business analyst ). Had a trip to Chennai with friends, went to Bangalore with appa and amma for cousin’s wedding. Had a great family gettogether there.

Barcamp is back in Trivandrum. The 12th edition of barcampkerala will be held at technopark, Trivandrum on the 22nd of April 2012. I am a regular barcamper from barcampkerala-3 onwards. This time I decided to take one step forward by taking a session at barcampkerala.

I was searching for a suitable topic and finally decided to take something on social media in kerala. Social media is a buzzing word now a days and everyone is after social media marketing. I am trying to focus on the social effects of social media in Kerala.

Despite the crisis in the US and European economies, a wide array of new gadgets is being pumped into the market. I am trying to list 5 gadgets that can be labelled as top 5 gadgets of 2012. This is not an exhaustive list of top gadgets in 2012 or a user review of these gadgets.
iPad 3 (The New Ipad )
The Apple iPad continues to be the ultimate gadget for scores of technological enthusiasts and the third generation tablet does not disappoint. A stunning 9.7-inch retina display with 3.1 million pixels and a 2048×1536 resolution headlines the enhancements. Apple has included a new A5X chip with a quad-core graphics processor and dual-core CPU to cope with the huge pixel count increase.

The  much awaited malayalam movie -The King & The Commisioner – turned out to be disappointing for the malayalam movie lovers. The movie which brings in two most successful characters in malayalam cinema -  Joseph Alex thevvalliparampil IAS and Bharath Chandran IPS – lacks a good story line and totally confuses the audience. The worst part is that the movie takes 3 and half hours of precious time from the audience and give them nothing other than verbal diarrhea. Mammooty and Suresh Gopi competes each other in delivering hard english words and using abusive words.

Malayalam movie ‘Ordinary’ starring Kunchacko Boban, Biju Menon and Aan Augustine very well justify its name – a very ‘Ordinary’ movie. Cinematography is the best thing about this movie. A person watching this movie will definitely set plans for a trip to Gavi. The beauty of Gavi is presented in such an awesome manner. Predictable story line is the biggest drawback of the movie in my opinion.

Immortals of Meluha is a book which stands different for the successful marketing strategy and exciting story.Getting into the National Best seller list within one month of book release is something huge for a debut writer, that too for a book which portrays one of their supreme Gods – Shiva as a mere human warrior from Tibetan Himalayas.

The depth of research Amish did for writing this book is reflected throughout the pages. Immortals of Meluha is the first book in the Shiva trilogy series which tells the story of Suryavanshi’s and Chandravanshi’s and how Shiva a Tibetan refuge emerges as the Mahadev.

Perfectly Average. The movie Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu can be summed up as a perfectly Average movie. There is nothing new in the story. A romantic comedy which revolves around the “????? ??? ?????? ?? ?????? ??? ?????” ( Love in friendship and friendship in love) concept. The movie is worth one time watch. 

Our leading newspaper should apologize for covering the news of the tweaked Last supper poster with so much importance. If the CITU branch commitie did a mistake by creating this poster, what Manorama did is the biggest Mistake by propogating it to more people. Manorama’s intention was to create chaos and a direct attack on the communist party.Such news items are destructive and divert governments focus to unproductive actions.

Why cant you just appreciate the artist who made that poster for his creativity ? Christianity doesn’t believe in idols. Its against christianity if some one idolize the last supper painting by Davinci. We should be able to accept that poster with a smile. Secular parties should not use this as a weapon to attack their rivals.

In a major decision to adopt the environmental friendly path IRCTC – Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd no longer requires passengers to take printouts of Tickets booked online. It is estimated that this small step will save 3 lakh A4 Paper a day. Though IRCTC has to improve a lot in terms of service quality, we should appreciate this decision to implement paperless ticketing.

Now State Bank of India should follow IRCTC in adopting the environmental friendly approach with their ATM’s. Almost all other bank ATM’s ask the customer whether they need a printed advice of the last transaction. State Bank ATM’s dont ask users whether they need the printed advice and prints the transaction details after every transaction.
